Andrei Mikhailov (born 1961, married, 2 adult children) was graduated from the Arts College of Kyzyl (Tuva Republic). At this college he was an apprentice of well-know artists Vladlen Kharlamov (uncle of famous Soviet ice hockey-player Valery Kharlamov). For couple of years he worked as drawings tutor at the same college. His second education in Arts was painting.
In 1995 he moved with his family to Bystraya village (Sludyanka district , 18 km from Lake Baikal southernmost point in Kultuk). Since then he lives in this typical Siberian village where he built himself his wooden home that looks like a small medieval castle and established his private Arts & Animation Studiou and a guest house to accommodate 10 people. His first fame arrived after he created one of the most popular poster “Never Give Up!” (see left). Andrei is the Winner of Silver Prize of Ansi Animation Festival (France).
He’s great and very gifted painter, animator (see some of his cartoon movies here), and he is also a good friend of “Absolute Siberia” Events & Expeditions Bureau.
Next year (September, 15-17) we plan to hold at his Baikal Animation & Arts Lodge the 1-st Siberia Animation & Ethnography Festival. Follow the news on our web-site…
